“I get so overwhelmed when someone else comes into my kitchen when I am cooking.”

— From Reddit

Traditional kitchens often confine one person to meal prep, leaving others as bystanders, due to spatial constraints and distributed layout, hindering collaboration and family engagement.

Problem

Observation

I observed the entire process of cooking in three homes, including both Eastern and Western kitchen layouts

Analysis shows that standard kitchen designs cause inefficiency and tiredness due to the frequent back-and-forth between separate cooking, washing, and dining areas.

How might we create a more centralized kitchen space that not only brings people together to dine but also invites collaborative cooking experiences?

The liftable faucet design is both liftable for use and drops down to merge seamlessly with the cooktop surface when not in use.

Replacing traditional knobs with a touch screen simplifies operations and is easy to clean.

A hidden range hood around the cooktop for seamless, effective ventilation.

Design Language

The faucet design inspired by the sight of a whale's tail rippling through the sea.
